Movie- Modigliani

The relationship between Picasso and Modigliani have this kind of heart felt friendship and a rival friendship. Modigliani was low class and was growing up poor. Picasso was from high class and was very rich. Modigliani seems like he was held back with a lot of things while growing up. Modigliani have always want the center of attention when he is around Picasso. Picasso was always quiet and thinks he can get away with anything and knows that he is the best painter out of all. He really hates when Modigliani always get the center of attention and it always makes Picasso mad. Modigliani is an alcoholic, would smoke all the time and did drugs for possible things he would be frustrate about and want to make himself better. Picasso was pretty much always frustrate with his paintings that he does not like and would do all over again until he knows it will worth millions.
With this heart felt relationship they have together is that they agree with things about because they have the same common taste. I think they respected each other because of being good friends and they even have the same taste on their inspirational famous painter name Renoir. Towards the end, they both signed up a contest to win $5,000 and complete against each other with other painters as well. Once it came to the competition night, Modigliani never showed up and once they showed Modigliani's painting, there was dead silence. No one ever said anything or clapped. They were in a awe moment until Picasso realize that Modigliani did the best amazing job he has ever seen from Modigliani. Modigliani won the money and later that night Modigliani was dead. Picasso showed up at Modigliani's funeral and was sad about that Modigliani is sad.
Overall it seems like that Picasso wants to help Modigliani to be a serious painter and a serious person. Picasso knows that Modigliani have this talent in him. Throughout the movie, it shows that Picasso do care about Modigliani in some ways. Modigliani didn't seem to show the feelings of friendship he has with Picasso but he probably does inside. Between the two, I think they have this kind of friendship rivalry together.
